Today is my victory!

Today is my victory!  You may not believe it, but I do.  For I am victorious in Christ!  His Word says it. so it must be true.

1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV – But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sounds good.  But how do we know the bible is true?

Proverbs 30:5 KJV – Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Numbers 23: 19 KJV – God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

You may be asking “What if I don’t feel victorious?”  Many days I don’t “feel” victorious. I’m just keeping this real.  Life happens:  we experience physical pain, get sick, get hit with a whopping bill that we didn’t expect, the roof leaks, the car breaks down, marriages fall apart, jobs are lost, the list can go on and on.  But even then, I am victorious! For I know, God is always with me, He has promised me!

Hebrews 13:5 KJV – Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

I drive a 2007 Ford Escort.  I would love to have a new vehicle.  And I know it’s okay to want to have something better and more reliable.  But even while I drive this car that is over 10 years old, I am victorious!  How do I  know that?  Because God provides for me, I do not lack.  It doesn’t mean that at this moment I get what I think would be the best car for me, but I know who my supplier is.

Philippians 4:19 KJV – But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

I bet you’re thinking “Hold on.  Why shouldn’t you have the best if God is your supplier?”  I know I already have the best!  I have Jesus as my Lord and Savior!  This time here on earth will pass, but because Jesus died for my sins, I will spend eternity with God!  This short time of natural life is just a grain of sand compared to the time where I will be spending eternity.  I know that my focus may get sidetracked a lot of times by things that happen to me or go on around me, but the important thing is to bring as many as I can to know how wonderful God’s love is.  That He loved each of us enough to send His Son to become flesh, and carry our sins to the cross.   In my sinful state, without Jesus, I would surely die.

Romans 6:23 KJV – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

But Jesus took my place on the cross.  He paid my sin debt in full! And He did it for you too!

Romans 5:8 KJV – But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Corinthians 5:15 KJV – And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Matthew 28:6 KJV – He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Luke 24: 6-7 KJV – For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Romans 6:4 KJV – Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

John 11:25 KJV – Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins?  No matter what you’ve said or done, if you believe it, now is the time to claim your salvation through Christ Jesus.

Romans 10:9 KJV – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 8:11 KJV – But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

All you need to do is say a simple prayer, something like this;

“Father, I am a sinner in need of a Savior.  I repent of my sins.  I want to turn away from the way I have lived.  I believe that Your Son Jesus, came to earth, carried my sins to the cross, and paid for my sins.  I believe that by Your power, He rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven.  I make Jesus the Lord of my life.”

What’s next?  Find a church with sound teaching.  Make it your aim to read the bible to get to know how wonderful God is and let Him reveal His many promises for you and your life.  And remember, though things may come your way, you are victorious!

Here are some scriptures to help you get started about your victory:

2 Corinthians 5:7-9 KJV – (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)  We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

Deuteronomy 20:4 KJV –   For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

John 16:33 KJV – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

1 John 1:9 KJV – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Peter 3:9 KJV – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

1 John 5:4 KJV – For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV – But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Give a shout onto the Lord for He is good, and faithful, and mighty to save!  HALLELUJAH!
