Satan has tried very hard to get people to stop believing in God, and one only needs to look at social media to see the strides that he has taken. If the devil can get people to stop believing in God, then they won’t believe that he is real either.
The Bible says this about the devil:
1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
And the first half of John 10:10 – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I grew up listening to Paul Harvey, an American radio broadcaster. I believe Paul Harvey spoke truth in his essay entitled “If I were the devil” which he penned around 1965. If you haven’t heard it, find it on youtube (I would recommend looking for the most recent one in the 90s where he addresses America). Here are just a few of the lines:
“If I were the devil:
… I would make it legal to take the life of unborn babies;
I would get control of the media, so that every night I could pollute the mind of every family member for my agenda;
I would convince the world that people are born homosexuals, and that their lifestyles would be marveled;
I would persuade people that the church is irrelevant and out of date, and the Bible is naive;
I would dull the minds of Christians, and make them believe that prayer is not important, and that faithfulness and obedience are optional;…”
America – Look around. God is warning the nation! Do you really think that it’s just coincidence that we’ve had a couple of major hurricanes, vast flooding, more than 80 large wild fires raging in the United States covering more than 1.4 million acres, and an earthquake only this morning in California? Wave upon wave of destruction in many forms are ravishing our land.
Romans 8:22 – For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
We need to be a nation that gets on their knees and repents. We need intercessors to intercede and enlarge their prayer territories. We need pastors, ministers, clergymen, and leaders to not settle for the feel good message but be led by God and speak truth. Stop trusting in the wallets of men, and the number of church seats filled, and trust in the Lord to provide all that you need.
We are entering into the end times. How do I dare to say this? Look at the Bible concerning what it will be like in the end times:
Luke 21:11 – And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
2nd Timothy 3:1-7:
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Are these signs not visible throughout America? There are wars raging within the people of the United States. See the division in how the nation views our president, an intolerance for Christians expressing their view points while demanding that other religions be allowed to have their say, increased racial tensions, and less support and respect for policemen who put themselves in harm’s way each and every day.
Matthew 24:6 – And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
It’s time to wake up, America. If we do, there is a promise given by God Himself:
2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Jesus came to pay our sin debt in full, to be the bridge to reconciliation with the Father. He thought we were worth leaving heaven for, to become man, and experience everything we do. Three days after He was hung and died on the cross, He arose and now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us.
No matter what you’ve done in life, run to the arms of Jesus. Confess you’re a sinner in need of a Savior and invite him into your heart and begin your steps with Christ. It’s not complicated to understand.
1 John 4:19 – We love Him because He first loved us.
